Good motor. well packaged as well. I purchased this motor to replace a York 024-27596-000 motor in a York H1RA048506g outside compressor. Not having a schematic on this compressor, I Googled "York H1RA048506g Schematic" and got this site:

(it seems that this compressor is made by Mitsubishi for York...)
We see on page 28 of the PDF document that the wiring for the fan motor consists of a Black, Green, Brown and Red wire with the capacitor between the Brown and red wire (neg side of capacitor to the Brown wire and pos side of the capacitor to the Red wire.)
The replacement motor here comes from A. O. Smith and it has a wiring diagram on the side of the motor. It too has the Black, Green and Brown wires...but it also has a Purple wire. The diagram on the side of the motor shows that the capacitor sits between the Brown and Purple wires with the neg side of the capacitor going to the Purple wire and the pos side of the capacitor going to the Brown wire.
IF YOU RUN THE MOTOR IN THIS CONFIGURATION, THE FAN WILL RUN BACKWARDS.
From what I've read, this doesn't cause any long term damages, it only will make the compressor less efficient in that the air is now coming from the top and blowing out the sides of the evaporator coils...
I don't know which schematic is wrong, but if you reverse the Purple and Brown wires so that the Purple is connected to the pos side of the capacitor and the Brown wire is connected to the neg side of the capacitor.
BTW, this motor didn't come with the correct connector for my application, but a short trip to Radio Shack got me the correct pins. I pushed out the original wires from the connector and soldered the new pins onto the new motor and reinserted the new pins into the original connector.
